Sandal season

Here in Iowa it may never be nice enough to wear sandals again it seems. But assuming that summer will eventually arrive I bought both these pairs of sandals on my lunch break today. They were only $4.98 each in the store! Woo hoo! Now I just have to give myself a pedicure so I can show my toes in public and I'm all set for summer. They are more expensive online but you can link to the red ones and/or the yellow ones.

My sister and I bought these at Christmas time. And now the spring colored versions are on sale. If you buy it in store it's only $3.74. I love them! They're soft and cute and short enough that I don't get all tangled up in my sheets (I hate that about longer nightgowns!) and long enough that I can walk around the house with the curtains open without giving the neighbors a peep show. I think it's light enough to be worn through the rest of the spring and early summer.

In honor of Earth Day I thought I'd post the reusable shopping bags I use. They are called ChicoBags. My BFF since 7th grade, Dorothy, gave me one for Christmas a couple years ago and since then I have ordered several for myself and for friends. I have several of the "original" and one of the "vita." They're not too expensive and they fold right up and fit in a purse or diaper bag or glove compartment.

I ordered this from oldnavy.com and it arrived yesterday! I haven't had a chance to try it on yet but I'm hoping it fits because I love it. Well, I love dresses in general. There's no matching involved. Check out the entire clearance section at oldnavy.com, the selection and sizes are easier to navigate than the mess they have in stores.

Little tikes rocking puppy

Daycare has two of these, only they are horses, not puppies. I can't find the horse version available anywhere online. And I can't find puppy or horse in stores. I went to THREE Walmarts in one day. THREE! Now I enjoy shopping and I'm not opposed to Walmart, but you know how Walmart is...by the third one I was in physical pain. So after not finding the toy in any of our local stores, I bought it online. And I'm pretty happy that $22 plus shipping are going to bring my one-year-old pure joy!

Shopping spree

I had the week off of work last week. On Thursday I decided to go power shopping so I hit the mall to get the baby some summer clothes. I LOVE The Children's Place. I got a whole bunch of baby girl stuff for 30% off the sale price. WOO HOO! I probably bought more than we need which defeats the purpose of a good deal and doesn't actually save money but at least I didn't pay full price. If you have a kid, GO THERE NOW!

I got this dress for $6.24 at Target last week! I love it! It's soft and comfortable and I think I can wear it to work with sandals all summer. I got another dress too for $6.24 but I can't find it on the Target Web site. Go to Target and look at the 75% off racks. Cute stuff says me.

Baby girl dress

I found this over my lunch hour for the babe. It's only $6!!! And so cute! I know some people are opposed to Walmart shopping. I however, am not. In my brief experience with babies, this brand runs small so if you want the baby to wear it more than once, buy up a size.

Bum genius

While I was pregnant we decided we wanted to cloth diaper our baby. Whether you agree with cloth diapering or not, these are a wonderful diaper. The initial investment is kind of a lot. But, we did the math and realized that if we exclusively used disposable diapers we would spend more in six months than the investment on the cloth diapers. If you're expecting or have little people in diapers these are an excellent choice. The husband even really likes them and does a great job of washing, assembling, and folding them.

Satin giraffe print sheets

I've always wanted satin sheets. I saw these at Target over lunch today. However they did not have them in a queen. Shoot! Target's Web site and in-store deals usually differ greatly so I didn't think I'd find them online. But I did!! $35.99 for the queen set. I totally don't need these, but what fun is that? I haven't purchased yet. I should run it by the husband probably. Who knows if he wants to sleep on satin. But, um, who doesn't? Buy yourself some! They come in various colors and all bed sizes.
